I have been studying for a test. Will leave you with a recipe I modified a tad that is absolutely delicious in my opinion. (the original recipe is here)
Mexican Wontons
1 can refried beans
1 package wonton wrappers
1 package taco seasoning
some grated cheddar cheese (or could be the Taco cheese)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
A little water
some hot sauce
a cookie sheet
an oven
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Put your refried beans in a dish and mix in some taco seasoning. Approximately half of the seasoning bag is generally good, but use taste to tell.
3. Put a bit of cheese inside one wonton wrapper.
4. Put a small spoonful of the bean mixture into it as well
5. Fold the wonton wrapper so it looks like a triangle (bring top to bottom)
6. Rub the edges with a bit of water on your finger so they stick.
7. Rub the wonton (top and bottom) with olive oil
8. Place on cookie sheet
9. Repeat steps 3-8 until you have filled your sheet/want to stop making them/have run out of ingredients
10. Place in oven for 10 minutes
11. Take out of oven (the edges will be crispy and brown)
12. Place on a plate and drizzle with hot sauce
13. Enjoy!
I ate mine plain first..they were delicious. The second time I ate them sour cream and they were even more delicious.
These have had rave reviews every time I make them.

ReplyDeletei'll have to add this to my recipe book.
ReplyDeletei heart cooking and writing as well. as a matter of fact, i'm off to Poetry Writing class!
Mmm they sounded delicious and then when I read the sour cream part I knew I would have to make these! I've been looking for some new recipes. Last night for dinner (this is so embarassing) I had Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, string cheese, and crackers. So I will have to try this!
