Anyway,
Whenever I see pictures of water droplets or people swimming, I get envious. How do they look so cool?!?
Yesterday, in my first photography class, my teacher talked about changing the aperture and shutter speed, what both of those mean and how to use them (for the most part). Our assignment for the week was to play around in manual with both shutter speeds and aperture and try and take pictures of motion.
Tonight, as I sat at my desk because of the snow, I was instantly inspired to take pictures of water and spent almost an hour doing so. It was so interesting and fun to try and get a good shot. To focus and shoot at the perfect time is so difficult but it's incredibly invigorating when a shot comes out good (or good for you).
Tomorrow, when I'm less bleary eyed, I am going to work more on my focus and flash. Because I took these in my dorm room bathroom, the florescent light isn't so great for taking pictures without the built in flash. I think if I place the camera a little differently, I can eliminate glare.
(This one isn't "good" per se, I just liked the way the water fell)
All the ones I took today came directly from the sink faucet (and a few of the drops went into a bowl instead of directly into the sink). Along with the other things I am wanting to work on, tomorrow I am going to try pouring water from cups, bowls and bottles and see how those turn out.
I honestly can't wait :)
I am always envious of people with an eye for photography... I totally do not have that eye! These pictures are really neat though!
