A Craft Idea!

It's been crazy lately-and i've been sick but luckily I had a little free time this weekend to go to the Rainforest cafe with my roommates and do some crafts i had been meaning to do.

Number 1 craft: Make letters for my sorority. Since greek wood letters are more difficult to come upon and more expensive, I decided to just go with ADPi instead of ΑΔΠ.

these cute little letters were incredibly simple to make and I think they look really good on my wall. I am probably going to make the same ones with my name on them and maybe different colors.

How to make your own hanging letters:
What you need:
*Unfinished wood letters (found at a craft store)
*Paint in colors you want
*Ribbon
*Hot glue gun
*Hot glue sticks
*paintbrushes
*nails/hammer (or in my case, plastic hooks that can come off the wall)
**if you want polka dots, I used a q-tip to make the dots because it was easier and they came out rounder and better.

1. Paint letters with 2 coats of paint.
2. Let dry.
3. Put "touches" if wanted. (my roommate put little bows on hers, polka dots, stripes, stars, whatever!)
4. Let dry.
5. Cut 2 pieces of ribbon for every letter that is long enough that it can be tied and glued.
6. Hot glue one end of ribbon to one side of the top of the letter.
7. Let it cool
8. Repeat steps 6-7 for each side of each letter (2 per letter)
9. Tie ribbons at the top.
10. Stick plastic hooks or nail nails where you want to hang letters.
11. Hang letters.
12. Admire cuteness!

I love mine and I really want to make more. I got my roommates on board too and they made their own for their sororities.

try them yourself!
