This year, i will do the same.
1. I am thankful for my family.
No matter what, they are always there for me. I come to these people with concerns and difficulties and most of the time they help me solve them. The beginning of this school year was a bit difficult but no matter how I felt, there were always people to share my feelings with, ask questions and learn from. I know that these people will always be there for me and I am lucky to have a family that cares as much as they do.
2. I am thankful for my old friends.
They have been there when I need someone to talk to. They have been there when i've had problems. I know I can always talk to them. Although we dont see each other very often anymore, I know that they will always be there.
3. I am thankful for my roommates.
Yes, this should go under friends, but I feel they are in a different category. I am so lucky to have gotten 3 amazing roommates in my first year of college. I truly love them all and I am so happy that things have turned out the way they have. When I was thinking of transferring, I always thought about them....how could I leave them in the middle of the year? in fact, I dont think I would be able to do it. We have so much fun dancing, singing, braiding, partying, law & order watching and more. They have made the first half of my freshman year livable.
4. I am thankful for the Yale decision of '08
Although it was difficult at first to accept it, it changed my life in so many ways. I am in the state I grew up in and where all of my family lives. I am going to school on a full scholarship. I can see my family when I want. I can take my driving test when school is in session. I am with a different type of people. More things have come from that decision and I am glad they did. I am a different person than I would be there. I dont think it would have been the place for me. I would have felt incredibly stupid and probably struggled against all the incredibly intense science majors (even more so than i do now). Everything happens for a reason and there is a reason why that letter said "rejected".
5. I am thankful for options.
Without options, i would be truly miserable. I have already changed my major 3 times. From education to business, to sciences and now to communications. If I wasnt able to do this, I would be stuck in a major I hate and would probably hate the rest of my life. I am able to take classes I want from now on. Ones that interest me and that I can do well in. I can make my own decisions as a college student, whether they be good ones or stupid ones. I run my life on different options and thats what makes it MY life.
