This is me, Alex. I am a 19 year old college sophomore majoring in print journalism and double minoring in music and entrepreneurship and small business management.
I enjoy babysitting, writing, reading, cooking, playing the violin, games, going on trips and daydreaming. I aspire to work at a big magazine and own an ice cream shop with a good friend of mine.
This summer, I am "nannying" my cousin who is 6. While she has only been out of school for a few weeks, we are having a lot of fun together. I am also looking for another job so I can save up some money to either a) buy a new car. b) pay off some of my loan, c) save for the ice cream store, d) save for an apartment or e) all of the above ( =] )
I love reading others blogs--on any subject. Most of my favorite blogs have lots of pictures and although almost none of my posts have pictures, I am working on becoming a better photographer and including them in my posts. I love photography and the emotions and beauty that can be captured within a picture.
I started my blog to release my thoughts and that is why I continue to have it. I have realized that there is also a social aspect to having a blog which I think is nice. Its a great way to "meet" people who are similar to you.
I was always bad at keeping a diary, so instead I use blogging. I basically write about anything that is on my mind at the time. I write about life, school, friends (i guess those all fit into life) and would like to start writing some posts about tips ive learned and things like that.
The biggest reward I get from blogging is seeing how I have changed. Yes, I enjoy comments and others reading my posts but that isnt what drives me to continue. I like going through my posts and seeing what happened in the past--recreating memories and pushing new ideas. I love having a place where no one is really judging me and where I can write what I want.
I started my blog in 2008, but picked up the pace and got it "really going" around December 2009. Hopefully, this blog will be long lived.
I like to play around with the title sometimes and it has changed a few times. I can never find one that really, truly, demonstrates me and what this blog is about. Currently, it is Learning Life. Because I write about things going on in my life and how I work through them, Learning Life fits. I am learning how to be an adult in the world which to me, is not the easiest thing to do. There are trials and tribulations to get through and things that need to be learned. I probably wont change the title for a while because I feel like its been the best fit thus far.
