Loving to Hate

When it comes to things I love, sometimes I have difficulty putting my finger on more than a few things. “Well, I love this..and I really like this..hmm”, but, when it comes to things I hate, I can easily spew them out.
Why is it so easy to dislike something but so hard to love something?
I’m guessing it is just the way the human mind works. There are several degrees of “like” before getting to love:
1.        Kind of Like
2.     .   Like a little
3.     .   Like enough
4.     .   Like a lot
5.       LOVE
When it comes to disliking something, there are only a few and all are negative in some way.
1.        Sort of dislike
2.        Dislike enough
3.      . Dislike a lot
Generally, these degrees don’t even matter because you either like something or you don’t—no if’s, ands or buts about it.
There are also people who just love to hate things—that like to say “I don’t like that, or I wont do that” just because they can, because they don’t want to or they just don’t want to like it.
For me, I cant say I dislike something without trying it, learning from it or working at it. For example: I hate fractions. I have done them for years, tried my hardest to learn them well, but no matter how many I do, I always forget how to add, subtract, divide and such by them. That is why I hate them. Have I given up on them? Not really, but I truly dislike them.

Lately, it feels like there are way to many hates in the world and not enough loves. Everyone hates each other but never actually works on fixing that. One example, war. I support our troops but I am mainly against war. What is fighting going to accomplish besides more hate in the world?

While reading Cosmopolitan yesterday, they said to make a list of all the things you love. I am going to do just that. I will not make a list of things I dont like--its not important. There needs to be more lovin'.
