Happy New Year!
I was reading Brittany's blog{Simply} BC the other day and she had the idea of going through her 2010 goals and evaluating. I am going to do the same here with my goals post from the beginning of the year. (Thank you Brittany for the idea).
GOALS FOR 2010
GOALS FOR SCHOOL:
* Do not waste time. Be working when there is work to be done. Dont wait until the last minute
* Do the best I can on every assignment. Do not slack off because I am tired/its stupid/etc.
* Try to get A's in every class.
* Read the material more than once.
*HOW I DID: I worked a lot harder during these past two semesters and brought my GPA up significantly from what it was in 2009. While I didn't get A's in every class, it was my definite goal and I came pretty close. I worked really hard and I am pretty proud of myself that I actually worked on doing all these things.
GOALS FOR MY HEAD:
* Keep a journal and write in it daily.
* When something is bothering me, talk about it.
* Finish reading Gabrielle Bernstein's book and do what she says.
*HOW I DID: So, luckily I accomplished everything in another section because in this one, I didn't do so hot. I recently got a journal and have written in it--not daily, but close. It will be my goal for 2011 to write daily (again). I really liked reading the second one because this year I finally took control of what was bothering me and started seeing someone about it. It has made me a ton happier and feel better about myself and whats hurting me. I'm glad to check that one off. I didn't 100% finish the book but I read about 85% of it. I realized that the book wasn't necessarily for me so I may try again soon.
GOALS FOR MY BODY:
* Go to the gym often.
* Don't sit around as much.
* Drink more water.
* Eat healthier food.
*HOW I DID: I definitely made a conscious effort to do all these things. While I was doing good in the summer with losing weight, I kind of stopped following my little regimen. Weight isn't even on this list though which was smart--it is solely about making my body healthier. I can say that I am a little stronger and way more hydrated.
GOALS FOR THE SUMMER:
* [FINALLY] get my license.
* Get a job.
* Save up enough money to maybe get a used car or ...**
* Work on looking for internships/jobs for the spring/next summer
**Save up enough money to maybe get a credit card--> establish credit--> rent a car.
*HOW I DID: I accomplished things on this list in a way but only one definite--I got my license. While I don't have an "official" job, I do babysit and have a new babysitting job for this half of the year. I didn't have to get my own car because my aunt graciously lets me drive her old one and I did work on finding an internship but found I couldn't have one until a certain point.
------------
So, in the end I think I did pretty good with this list. I am glad to finally have a year that I didn't just drop my resolutions off the face of the planet after a few weeks.
I also did a lot that wasn't on the list--I got more involved at school, I started playing violin again and joined the local symphony orchestra, I am working on starting an organization branch at school, I met more people, I took my first solo road trip and did things that I didn't expect.
------------
My Goals for 2011
SCHOOL:
*Do well and strive for A's ALWAYS.
*Go through sorority recruitment and see what happens.
*Work hard and be prosperous.
HEAD:
*Continue seeing someone because it really works.
*Write in a journal every night.
*Use blogging more often as a place of release
BODY:
*Go to the gym as often as possible--at least 4-5 times a week.
*Drink more water
*Eat healthier
*Lose some weight--make a pounds goal
FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER
*Search for internships
*Apply as a section editor for the newspaper
*Have fun
FOR THE FALL/WINTER
*Do more school things
*Work on major specific things--jobs, internships, opportunities
*Have fun
Basic: Take more pictures, continue playing violin, take more road trips, make more friends, take some risks.
-----------
Happy New Year Everyone! If you made it this long, I applaud you. Thanks for listening.
