Reasons Why I Haven't Posted Lately*
*a sad attempt to make it seem that I am not so lazy.

1. I have been teaching myself how to knit. I'm surprised at a) how relaxing it is. b) how much I want to get good at it. I had this realization the other day that when I think of knitting, I think of elderly people. They knit cute little sweaters and hats, scarves and baby booties. When my generation is elderly, no one will be knitting their grandchildren sweaters because they don't know how. Not too many people know how to sew or knit which is something you used to know had to do by time you were a teenager.

2. I've been babysitting. All of a sudden, I've been babysitting like crazy. I have about 5 children that I consistently babysit now at different times of the day so it makes it seem like a ton of time is spent playing with kids. I'm not complaining though--I love it!

(these aren't from babysitting, but they went along with the kids and I do watch her often)

3. We have a copious amount of snow on the ground. Today, the sky spit out about 2 feet of snow. The snow was past my knees when I went outside to check it out and I honestly think its the most I've seen at once. I had to do my share of shoveling which was not so much fun but at least I am a little closer to getting my car out tomorrow.

4. Yesterday was my sisters birthday. She turned 19 and I tried to be nice and offered to take her out to lunch or something. Instead of lunch, she made me asked me to drive her almost 45 minutes away to get an industrial ear piercing. I was not too happy with it--I'm not such a fan of a) driving 45 minutes when gas is $3.30 a gallon, b) piercings and c) getting in between her and my mother (my mother doesn't like piercings either). We went to the mall though after which was nice and then the family came over for dinner which was nice as well.

I could have written a real post instead of this list but, oh well.
