Blog Bash 2011 Post 1!

Last year, I participated in the Blog Bash and had a great time so I decided to do it again this year! :)




Hi everyone thats never been here before! My name is Alex (that's me on the side) and this is my blog, Learning Life. I am a 20 year old college junior that blogs about what ever I feel like writing. From simple recipes to deep thoughts about one topic or another, you'll find it here. I've been blogging for a while (on different platforms/pages) and really enjoy it (maybe thats why I am a journalism major?). Some random facts about me: I am a sister of Alpha Delta Pi, a 2nd violinist in an orchestra and the Arts and Entertainment section editor for a school newspaper. I enjoy reading, writing (of course), babysitting and cooking/baking. 


On to the Blog Bash Questions!



1.) What's your favorite memory from Summer 2011?
This is a hard one because the summer isn't over yet! I would probably have to say working. Yes, working. This year I have worked a real 9-5 (most days) job at my dad's catering business. It's been hard and hot but definitely lots of fun and I've also learned a lot.

2.) What's your dream summer vacation?
ANYWHERE! Seriously! I've never been out of the country so I would love to travel anywhere outside the United States and also take trips all over the US to states I've never been to.

3.) What's your favorite thing to do in the summer?
I am definitely not a big fan of summer. I prefer the other seasons to this hot and sticky and out of school one. I do like swimming though so I guess my favorite thing is hanging out in the pool and swimming around. 

4.) What's your "blog goal" for 2011?
Definitely to blog more! When I am at school and working, I definitely get caught up in that so I don't blog as often as I would like. I have big aspirations to write on weekends/throughout the week and schedule posts but that hasn't worked out so well yet. I'd also love to make my blog a little more public but I don't feel comfortable showing it to friends just yet. 

5.) Let's hear the story behind your blog title! :)
When I was thinking of blog titles, I tried to think of something that was catchy and somewhat simple but that also fit what my blog would be about. At 20 and as a student, I am currently learning things that will guide me as an adult so in turn, I am Learning Life!

    I'm with you on summer being so sticky. I prefer the comfort of Spring and Fall.

    I like your title Learning Life. It is perfect because it can be used and be appropriate for life.

    OMG! I actually planned our vacation so that we will be staying in Providence on the same night as Waterfire! That is so funny you mentioned it. I love catching rare unusual local events like that. We happened to catch a Christmas lights event in the Scottish highlands which I don't think they even do anymore that was the most amazing light and music exhibit throughout the forest. Perfectly enchanting.

    I'm with you on the not blogging enough because of school!! I tried dedicating a night during the week for it--and it didn't work.

    Maybe we can all work together to encourage everyone to keep blogging through cram sessions, finals, and social events. I'm sure your sorority keeps you hopping!

    Yay, a journalism major! :D I was almost the same... but my love of reading encouraged me to go for library science instead :)
