Summer is Tiring

Unlike most, summer has always been one of my least favorite seasons. Sure, swimming is great and yes, sunshine and picnics are nice but summer always meant being left with nothing to do. As a child, I went outside, read some books, ate watermelon and drank lemonade while counting down the days until summer started or my schedule arrived.

Being older or a college student has not changed that. I relish the days of hanging out in my room with my friends, sitting on the perfect green grass in the sun and even going to class. Life is interesting at school, there are things to do and people to see. (#COMEONAUGUST).

Anyway, since last summer, my days have turned into work and nothing but. Gone are the days of counting down til school because I was bored and in have come the days of counting down because school is actually more relaxing (did I really just say that?).

I'm an early riser to begin with but waking up at 6AM is a drag, especially when you know you won't be home til 8 at night. Wake up, go to work, go to the gym, come home, eat dinner, work on internship work, go to bed and repeat. Everyday.

This isn't to say that I don't like working because I do most of the time. It's something to do and I enjoy cooking, baking and working in the food industry but it's tiring and leaves me without much time to do anything else.

Summer used to be a time when I was bored and had nothing to do. Now, I wish I had nothing to do! Boy, do times change with age.
