Things I've Been Lovin'

1. I receive e-mails from Ulta and Sephora way more than anyone should. Every time a new message appears in my inbox, the subject line draws me in sooner than I can delete it from my phone (...which I guess is the point) which has become a problem. Now, I spend much free computer time shopping around for makeup and skin care products that I don't need and most likely won't actually buy. The other day though, I stumbled upon a facial brush which was something i've actually been meaning to buy. I'm too cheap to spend money on a Clarisonic brush (even though it would probably work very well) but a $30 Olay brush with pretty good reviews? maybe! After hemming and hawing and trying to decide whether it was actually worth it, I hightailed it to the store one day after work and left with a little facial brush that I couldn't wait to try out.

Was it worth the money? Abbbsooolutely! This baby spins its little head to unclog my pores in record speed. After one use, I could already see a difference in my face. I decided to change up my cleanser as well and grabbed some made by Olay to keep the products in the same line and have not been disappointed.

2. Before I got an iPhone, there was literally an app for EVERYTHING being advertised everywhere. Now that the little black beauty is in my hands, finding good apps (cheap, entertaining/interesting/working/etc.) to download has been more of a challenge than I would have thought. Luckily, while searching a few days ago, I came across 8mm, a movie app. I'm not much of a cinematographer but this little app is great. It has a variety of filters to choose from allowing the user to make their movies vintage. While I haven't figured it out yet, i'm sure there's a way to take silent films and put music to them and do a bunch of other fun things with this app.

3. I compare my fabulous pale skin to that of Casper the friendly ghost all the time so when I go outside for extended periods of time, SPF50 sunscreen gets slathered across my entire body. While I do like my paleness sometimes, during the summer its less than satisfactory. Sadly, no matter the amount of reapplying I do of my basically-made-for-babies sunscreen, my skin turns a beautiful shade of red that makes me wince in pain every time I move. Aloe Vera has been my knight in shining armor for basically every summer since I stopped playing in the sand and moved to the blanket for some tanning. Luckily, my mom was plant fanatic kind enough to give me my own aloe plant in my room. Now, she can just rip a leaf off and rub it on my shoulders and back for me (i dont like the way most lotions feel in my hands). Instant relief!

4. Last but not least, my vitamin E stick. This was another Ulta find that I bought on a whim. No matter how much I sleep, dark circles always appear under my eyes. I thought this little stick that looks like a lip balm was supposed to help with that but I may have accidentally mixed up the vitamins that work well in that spot. But, this tiny stick works well as an eye protector and excellent lip moisturizer among other things. Now, whenever I know I might be squinting (i.e. out in the sun because I lost my amazing Lilly Pulitzer sunglasses :(   ), I rub a little of the vitamin E stick underneath my eyes and head out. It definitely moisturizes that delicate spot and it has gotten softer. It definitely works on lips and makes them soft quickly. I've heard the stick also works well on things like facial scars but  I haven't tried that. I would surely recommend this little thing.
