In this post from last year, I began 2011 without resolutions but with goals to accomplish throughout the year. The sad part is that after writing these, I dont think I ever looked at them again. This year I hope to write out some more goals and leave them visible so that I can truly follow them.
Year Recap:
My Goals for 2011
SCHOOL:
*Do well and strive for A's ALWAYS.
*Go through sorority recruitment and see what happens.
*Work hard and be prosperous.
I worked really hard this past year in school and ended up with 2 semesters that weren't too great but not too bad either. A few bad classes out of many good ones hurt my GPA more than I would have liked. I joined Alpha Delta Pi last year which was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Overall, I spent a lot of time in the library, learning about sisterhood and realized that college provides some important life lessons.
HEAD:
*Continue seeing someone because it really works.
*Write in a journal every night.
*Use blogging more often as a place of release
Well, I wasn't very successful in this category. While I did continue to see someone, I didn't write in a journal and didn't blog as much as I would have liked or hoped to.
BODY:
*Go to the gym as often as possible--at least 4-5 times a week.
*Drink more water
*Eat healthier
*Lose some weight--make a pounds goal
For the first time ever, I did well in this category. It just took a while! I started using Weight Watchers in April then stopped after about eight weeks of okay results. I got it into my head that I need to get healthy and did just that come October. I participated in a weight loss program and did well. I am currently down 35 pounds, enjoy exercising and make good food choices.
FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER
*Search for internships
*Apply as a section editor for the newspaper
*Have fun
I did alright here. I didn't do very much internship searching but I did apply for section editor and became the Arts and Entertainment editor for my newspaper. I recently applied for a new position for next year and will be the new copy editor next year and next semester. I also had a lot of fun!
FOR THE FALL/WINTER
*Do more school things
*Work on major specific things--jobs, internships, opportunities
*Have fun
Another alright-section. I did more school things--mostly sorority things. I also took some opportunities that came up to help myself, my education and my passion for certain things. Again, I also had fun.
Basic: Take more pictures, continue playing violin, take more road trips, make more friends, take some risks.
DID,DID,DID,DID,DID.
Overall, I did pretty well in accomplishing my goals. Apparently 2011 was the year of change and it was successful. Its hard to believe the year is already over and to reflect on all the things I accomplished in 365 short days.
My goals for next year aren't too much different.
I aim to continue losing weight
Be happy and healthy
Work hard in school
Take risks
Make new friends
Work on my future (internships, jobs, grad school)
and some other things I won't bore you with here :)
I wish everyone a prosperous, happy and healthy 2012
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
